BTS rapper Suga on Friday began his military service, following the footsteps of fellow group members Jin and J-Hope. As earlier informed by BTS agency BigHit Music, there were no official events held for Suga's send-off. However, Suga chose to leave a note for his fans before beginning his service.
Till 2013, the South Korean military had an “entertainment soldier” system, wherein soldiers were assigned duties related to producing radio and TV material promoting the ideals of the military. However, the system had to be closed due to the complaints of unfairness.

Suga is the third member of BTS to join the South Korean military. So far Jin and J-Hope are serving in the army. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will also follow.
